Insane weekend

On one of the Saturdays, I went to Attica with some friends. I wasn't 18 at that time, so we had to pull some strings haha. I had to enter alone first, before the rest (who had their ICs and were queueing up) came in. I wandered around the club by myself. Big mistake. I remember feeling shocked yet afraid of how bold some guys were. This one particular guy (who was clearly tipsy) grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me towards him. He was slurring about we should be friends and how we ought to get married. Most distinctly, I recall him saying "Do I look like I give a shit" after I told him that I was attached. I ended up shouting for Xiaoqian when she came in and she immediately pushed him away. I was genuinely afraid. After all it was only my second time in such a place.
We got a little bored after a while, so the four of us (Xiaoqian Xiaoshi Caro and I) hopped to Dream. We hung out with another group of people, drinking champagne and watching people dancing crazily. We went down after a while, but despite the sweaty people jumping around, I was excited to just hang out with the girls.
Afterwards, we went to Zouk. Best club out of the three cuz of the music and the crowd. The whole atmosphere was just different. I had my own fun, telling guys that I was a lesbian and watching them get embarrassed. This persistent guy was skeptical about that, but there was nothing he could do about it right hahaha.

On Sunday, us girls went to District One (together with Amanda this time) but we left shortly after. We headed to Zouk instead, but I didn't stay for long.

Ever since I turned 18, I haven't been to any clubs hahaha. In fact this was only my second time! I basically go there for my friends. It's always a good time with them.

Chingay Media Conference 2013

I was in the first Chingay Media Conference hehe. This is not my actual costume, but I was just supposed to do some simple steps for the video. Pearl said that it was in the news too, but I didn't watch it :-( She did take a picture of the television screen though LOL.



The head piece was ridiculously huge, I had to constantly watch out for doors hahaha I couldn't even count the number of things I hit.

Zoo

I went to the zoo with Xiaoqian Xiaoshi Amanda and Chris (A's bro) hehe
Elephants are my favourite animal, and we got to watch the show + feed them + ride them hehe. The ride wasn't that interesting cuz it was too protected with the cushions. I would much rather sit on their bare backs although it might be a little painful (their skin is so rough) and dangerous hahaha.

Recently I watched a video of how some people in Thailand mistreat the elephants in order to get them to work. The video showed how they stab the elephants with knives/ repeatedly beat them with sharp spike-like metals. The elephants were bleeding, but they were forced to perform even though their injuries weren't fully recovered yet. It was so excruciatingly painful to watch...... And i was wondering why the elephants didn't wanna fight back. Clearly they're way stronger and larger. Just stomp on those bastards la their intestines confirm fly out.

I watched the performance and it seemed like the elephants had a friendly relationship with their trainers, so I was really glad hehe. I wonder if they'll be happier in the wild though.



The elephant threw his trainer's hat away hehe so cute. But then he went to pick it up and placed it right on his head.



Can you just look at the state of my nails/ skin around my nails. I forgot when I took this, but I have this really bad habit of peeling my skin/ lips whenever I'm in deep thought/ feeling nervous/ feeling stressed.
It's MUCH better now though, my nails look pretty. My lips are still damn chapped.... Help? I can't seem to stop.



I wanna visit the night safari soon. 18 years of living in this country & I've never been there once hahahaha.

Before you think I tried to shape my face, NOPE I had this huge acne on my chin which stuck out whenever I smiled. I was wondering why the hell my face shape was like that...... Damn weird hahahaha.
PS I can't liquify for nuts (Is that what they call it lol) I should learn someday.

Performing in Korea

In October, I got the opportunity to perform in Korea. I remember tearing when my teacher told me cuz I've was really really excited/ glad that they chose me. It was an all-expenses paid trip, and on top of that they gave us extra allowance for each performance. But most importantly, I got to gain so much experience.
It was an event by the Singapore Tourism Board, where people from all over Asia would come together and put up performances in Korea. So I got to see the traditional (and not so traditional) dances from each country, which was really interesting.
We had to prepare three performances - for Andong, Jeonju and Seoul.



2 chinese dancers, 2 malay dancers, and 2 indian dancers to represent our different cultures.
Michelle and Haifang (also in this picture) are from STB and they were our guides for this whole trip. I was really glad that they were both so friendly, otherwise the trip wouldn't have been as fun as it was.

Cikgu Osman is the malay dance teacher. He's really funny and expressive, and I honestly love his choreography.

Before I flew over, I did some research on the weather. It was autumn time, and the temperature was supposed to range between 20 to 25 degrees. That's the normal air-con temperature so I didn't bother to bring anything extensive.
HUGE MISTAKE.
It was insanely cold!!! When we were in Jeonju, the temperature dropped to 8 degrees (probably cuz of the wind too) and I was freezing. Thank god Ruban's jacket is huge hahaha.

I'm just regurgitating all these from memory, so it might be wrong HAHAHA.



We took the train to Myeong-dong on the first and last days. I loved taking the train - from figuring out which station to drop at to looking at the scenery. It was like being part of them, and that's the best part about traveling.

The funniest period was on the last day when Luojia wasn't with us. (She guided us on the first day, but on the last day she went to meet her husband, leaving the five of us to guide ourselves back to the hotel.) We couldn't figure out where to go because the map was CRAZILY CONGESTED. It's huge and nothing like the one in Singapore. I took a picture of it with my phone, I'll post it next time.
We felt like lost souls, and Bada had so much trouble with the tapping-out until he got so frustrated he just walked over the barrier HAHAHA.



Myeong-dong is basically the much larger (and better) version of Bugis Street. There were many different outlets of the same brands. Most people (like us) go there for the cosmetics and beauty products cuz they have a wide variety there. I must've spent a fortune on Etude House/ Nature Republic/ Innisfree/ Face Shop etc.
But the things there are so much cheaper! Despite the reduced prices, they even have further discounts. A face mask is probably just S$1 each, and it's from reputable brands.

On the second-last day in Seoul, Luojia and I (literally) ran to this Face Shop outlet by the train station cuz everything was 50% off hahaha. We spent so much after just 10 minutes in the shop. We were supposed to be back in the hotel room already, but we couldn't resist the sale hehe.

This was my favourite dance - The Orchid Dance. This was our first performance, the Andong Maskdance Festival.
All the ten countries had to parade around in our costumes, and like I mentioned it was really cold. Our shoulders were completely exposed, and our legs were only covered with nude stockings. So many people came up to ask us if we were feeling cold LOL I WAS SHAKING.
They were really fascinated with our clogs though. It wasn't easy dancing in them, that's for sure.

We also visited Hahoe Village, but the pictures are in my phone hehe.

I didn't take any pictures of the third performance in Seoul, but we performed Gloria - which was what we performed for the International Congress.

We concluded the trip with happy jump shots in Incheon Airport hehe.
Overall it was a really fruitful trip - my first overseas experience with PA. The five other dancers - Luojia, Noni, Bada, Ananthi and Morgan - have all been in PA for SO much longer than me. I've only joined for a couple of months but they're been inside for years..... I really appreciated all their guidance, and I'm glad this trip brought all of us closer.

I'm looking forward to the next overseas trip (hopefully it'll be soon) hehe!
