Australia - Part 1
Last December, I visited Victoria, Australia with my sister. We stayed at her boyfriend's parents house, and they drove us everywhere so that saved us a lot on accommodation/ transport :-)
First day -
Docklands > City Circle Tram to Melbourne Central > Highpoint Shopping Centre
We bought these foam reindeer ears for charity! We literally wore them around for 10 minutes and took them out cuz we looked ridiculous LOL.
Their house is located in Truganina, a small suburb in Melbourne.
The thing about the countryside is that it's so quiet, you could hear birds flapping their wings.
I've lived in this noisy city all my life that I was so surprised when I first reached the place. I stood in the garden and watched the environment for a good ten minutes, just waiting for something to happen. But it was so peaceful, I could hear my own breathing. It's such a lovely place to gather your thoughts.
I really loved how there were no tall buildings there. I honestly can't even begin to explain how much I love the countryside. I told my sister countless of times that I wanna retire there.
It's so peaceful.
Second day -
South Melbourne Market for oysters and coffee > Docklands Stadium
We added tabasco sauce to the oysters to cover the raw smell, and I quite liked it :-)
We went to attend my sister's boyfriend's graduation ceremony!
Third day -
We took a four hour drive to Phillip Island, where we got a little lost and entered a small town called Officer. It was the smallest town I've ever been to, and it has such a cute name hahaha.
Pelican feeding > Rhyll Trout and Bush Tucker Farm > Koala Conservation Centre > A Maze'n Things > Penguin Parade
Pelicans have really creepy-looking eyes. They look like plastic buttons, like those on a doll.
I'm not sure how they know, but the pelicans will come at 12pm and leave together once they're done eating.
I took about half a minute to catch this fish HAHAHA it was some beginner's fishing station where the guy helped me set up the fishing rod and stuff. The fishes are super easy to catch.
This was a really good thing cuz the temperature was a whooping 38 degrees celcius. IT WAS INSANE.
We left the Koala Conservation Centre after a really short while cuz it was under the scorching sun, and the first three steps already made us perspire like mad.
This was some play on gravity which I thought was really cool.
PS: We checked into our apartment before coming here, so I removed my stockings and jacket hahaha.
This was a huge maze made out of mirrors. It got kinda scary for a while, cuz I would be so happy to see my sister, but as I walked towards her I realized that it was just a mirror reflection. It's like you don't know who is real and who is just a reflection.
It was fun though!!!
MY FAVOURITE DRINK THERE.
I had like four bottles of this, and the sad thing is that it's not available in Singapore :-( I miss Charlie's.
The VIP tour consisted of the ranger bringing us to a room to tell us more about penguins. Next, we went onto the viewing platform where we were given binoculars to spot the penguins even from the ocean. They don't come out when it's bright, so at the beginning of sunset they would be indecisive and play around the water. Lastly, we went to Penguin Plus where we literally stood beside the penguins as they walked back to their homes. The chicks (little penguins) would wrestle the adults and harass them for food, and since they can't recognize their parents, they're basically just blindly wrestling the penguins. It was so adorable!!!
